The currency collapse that suddenly occurred in Thailand in July 1997 had a direct impact on the various Southeast Asian countries just when the high growth called the "Era of Southeast Asia" was being extolled. The Southeast Asian countries went into a complete reversal and sank into currency collapse, financial instability, economic depression, and economic crisis.
